Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Rao returns to Maryland where he was an intern at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and has strong family ties to the area. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center and fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Pain Management in New York City. He was Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he educated and instructed residents and fellows in Pain Medicine. He also treated active-duty soldiers with war-related chronic pain issues at Fort Hood in central Texas. With this diverse background and experience, Dr. Rao is proud to offer a comprehensive approach to pain management combining interventional and medical management techniques. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, biking, and digital photography/videography.
